Today is officially the last day of June and we are smack dab in the middle of 2016. This year has been flying by and I figured now would be a good time to check-in on my 2016 goals.
2016 Goals: Personal
- Run another half marathon
So far – nope. I started training but just wasn’t in love with running like I was when I ran my first half marathon. I have been running more lately but it’s been a struggle. My run club is considering doing a half in the fall and I am hoping that my love for running will come back.
I have run a bunch of shorter distance road races so I guess I am at least doing something.
Honestly, I think I could go out and do it without epic amounts of training but that’s never really a good idea 🙂
- Hike another 4,000 footer
Complete!! SL and I took advantage of a beautiful day over Memorial Day weekend and hiked Mt. Moosilauke.
I really loved this hike but it was HARD. It took SL and I about the same amount of time to hike up as it did to hike down and my legs were somehow on fire and jello at the same time. I’m hoping to add at least one more 4,000 footer this summer!
- Pay off my car and my smallest student loan
Halfway there! I paid off my car in April and got the title in the mail to prove it. That felt so good.
I am still working on paying down my smallest student loan and am making great progress.
2016 Goals: Professional
- Increase my income by 10%
Not quite there. I did get a raise in April and I did qualify for a bonus (both at my full time job) but that didn’t quite get me to 10%. I am still hoping to eventually teach fitness class, personal train and/or teach marketing courses but I haven’t found the right fit yet. At least I am not getting underpaid…
- Take a course
Complete! I got certified in the following:
- Inbound Marketing via Hubspot (this one is free is anyone is interested!)
- Value Proposition via MECLABS
- Email Messaging via MECLABS
Check out the proof in my side bar!
The Inbound Marketing and Value Proposition certifications I took online and the email messaging certification I took in-person. It almost made me miss being in a classroom 3 times a week.
I am pretty happy with how things have been progressing so far. I still have some work to do on paying off my student loan, running and making a little more money but I think I can realistically do it all by the end of the year.
Thanks for listing to me as I think out loud and thanks to Amanda for hosting Thinking Out Loud!
