Hola! Thanks for checking in on this “beautiful” Thursday. TBH, it’s not beautiful here, it’s blizzarding. Hardcore blizzarding. The upside is that I am working from home so I got to sleep in a bit and am going to work in my PJs for the day.
I haven’t done a Thinking Out Loud type post in a bit and thought a goals post would be perfect for this first week of 2018.
PR in the 10k
I don’t often run 10ks but they are a great distance. I can only remember running 3 official 10ks.
September 2010 – Time 1:03:35 // Pace 10:13/mi
October 2010 – Time 1:00:51 // Pace 9:47/mi
March 2017 – Time 55:34 // Pace 9:10/mi
Yes, I have gotten faster over the last 7 years but I really think I can PR in the 10k this year. In fact, I plan on running the same course as in March which is perfect for PRing because it is as flat as can be. The 2017 race fell on a day of cold drizzle so I am hoping for better weather.
Pay off my smallest student loan
Yes, this was on my list last year (along with paying off my car) but life happens and this goal was fully completed. I was able to make a huge dent in all of my student loans in 2017 but they all still exist.
I know that paying off this loan will make me feel just that much closer to paying off all of my student loans. It’s already been 10 years of loan repayments and I am just over it.
Haha don’t be gross. That’s not what I mean.
I stole this one straight from Lexi – Get rid of THINGS each month. Take a more minimalist approach and get rid of STUFF that no longer serves me.
I spent about an hour last week cleaning out my pantry and it felt amazing. I got rid of an embarrassing amount of expired goods and candy that we would never eat and my pantry is one day going to be The Home Edit perfect. It’s not there yet, but that is the goal.
Up next to douche in 2018 – our junk drawer, my closet and the upstairs closet. These three spaces have so much STUFF and give me anxiety.
Read LOTS of Books
My book list has over 20 books on it and each of them sounds amazing. I spent a couple hours on New Year’s day reading The Lying Game because; 1) It was due back to the library yesterday and 2) Because reading an actual book is way better than scrolling, mindlessly through Instagram all day.
I don’t want to commit to XX number of books each month but I want to be conscious of taking time to read.
Up next on my reading list:
📚 Identical by Ellen Hopkins
📚 Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple
📚 I See You by Clare Mackintosh
I am starting with Where’d You Go, Bernadette simply because it was the first one to be ready for me at the library.
I am linking up with the lovely Amanda from Running with Spoons.
