This super simple 5 ingredient vegan pesto is a great summer time go-to dip or spread. I use this instead of mayo on sandwiches for extra flavor!
With summer right around the corner, my basil plant is growing like a
weed plant. Nothing smells better to me than fresh herbs, especially basil. For years, I shied away from pesto because of the parmesan cheese. That is until I realized how easy and customizable it is to make at home.
I have tinkered around with some other versions of pesto – like my Asparagus-Spinach pesto – but my classic, vegan pesto is always my favorite.
5 Ingredient Vegan Pesto
- 2 cups of fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4-6 garlic cloves
- 3 Tablespoons pinenuts
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- Optional: Squeeze of lemon juice, pinch of pepper
Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender and combine until your desired smoothness.
So, so easy.
