Good morning and happy Monday. SL and I spent the weekend in beautiful Camden Maine and despite not so great weather, we had a great coupe of days. It was so nice to be away but I am not as prepared for the week as I normally would be. Oh well, it was worth it!
Here is how my weekend went down and at the end of the post I have last week’s workouts and this week’s menu. Writing out the menu was about as much meal prep as I got done yesterday. We’ll see if this plan sticks!
As soon as I got out of work on Friday, SL and I hit the road for Camden, Maine. We made a quick pit stop for dinner about 3/4 of the way up.
We made it to Whitehall, the inn we booked, around 10:00 pm and quickly checked into our room.
The room was so cute with its queen bed and bunk.
Both of us were exhausted and opted to hit the sheets shortly after we arrived.
Saturday in Camden Maine
SL and I opted to not set an alarm and woke up around 8:30 am to a rainy day. We slowly got ready and enjoyed the complementary breakfast at the inn.
I wasn’t starving so I just had 1/2 banana with honey and walnuts and some unpictured steel cut oatmeal.
We spent the day poking around shops, getting lunch and popping in and out of a few bars.
Lunch at Camden Deli was a highlight. My Italian sub was delicious and loaded with veggies.
During the time we weren’t eating, we walked around as much of the little town of Camden as we could. It rained most of the day but not hard enough that we couldn’t enjoy ourselves. I am planning to write a full post on visiting Camden soon!
For dinner, we opted for seafood at Waterfront. SL had lobster and I opted for paella.
After dinner we walked back to the inn and were ready for bed.
Sunday morning started just as slowly as Saturday except on Sunday, we woke up to grey skies with the possibility of sun.
Once again, we enjoyed the complementary breakfast at Whitehall before checking out. I really wanted to enjoy the non-rainy day so we decided to go for a short hike at Mt. Battie.
The hike was short but it wasn’t exactly easy. As we neared the top, the sun began to come out and we were rewarded with spectacular views of Camden and Camden Harbor.
On our way home we stopped at Portland Pie Co. in Brunswick and it was so so so good! This short hike was the perfect way to say goodbye (for now) to the adorable town of Camden, Maine. We will be back!
On our way home, we stopped for a late lunch in Brunswick, Maine.
I ordered a loaded pie (light on the cheese) and had more than enough for leftovers this week.
Then, SL and I stopped for gelato at Gelato Fiasco. I opted for 1/2 almond butter chocolate chunk and 1/2 caramel sea salt.
After our indulgent lunch, we made our way home and finished the day with chores and some couch time to round out the week.
It was so great to get away for a few days and now I am getting really excited for our trip to Denver in June. There are so many things I want to do and see in the 3 days that I am there!
And now, back to regularly scheduled programming – last week’s workouts and this weeks menu.
