Good morning and happy Monday! Can you believe its already August?! When did that happen? SL and I were in New York for a hot second this weekend for a beautiful farm wedding. The last wedding until our own actually. I figured since it was a new month it’s time to talk about some goals. I am hoping that by throwing my monthly goals up on the internet I will actually be forced to accomplish them.
Before diving in to my August Goals, lets look at how I did on my July Goals.
- Make blog changes
- Get workout schedule back on track
- Hire a house cleaner
Two out of three isn’t bad. Right?!
I made some significant blog changes on the front and back end. I wanted to do this to make AEH prettier as well as more functional. I was also excited to learn more in the process. Here is what I did:
- Added Favicon
- Added new social share buttons
- Updated header
- Added menu bar options
- Updated CSS so incorporate the AEH colors
Workout schedule – FAIL! Ugh. I struggle every summer with staying on scheduled.
I did, however, hire a house cleaner. This may sound super frivolous of me seeing that SL and I don’t have children that take up our time but we do both have demanding 9 to 5s and I would prefer to spend our time at home NOT cleaning. I also find solace in the fact I am helping someone create their livelihood.
And now for the main attraction:
I just ordered a couple super cute notebooks from May Designs and my goal is to take note on my daily life. Before smartphones I had small agenda notebook that I carried with me everywhere I went and it was great to look back and see where I had been and how far I had come.
2. Create a wedding/house/life budget binder.
Weddings are expensive. Buying a house and moving in is expensive. Doing both in the same year = holy shit! What were SL and I thinking?! I feel more poor now than I did when I was trying to sell cookies at the bar in order to afford to drink on nickel night. SL and I both have full time jobs where were get regular paychecks but boy does that money go fast these days.
I found Abby’s Budget Binder recently and am going to use her printouts to get myself started. I know my life will feel less chaotic once I have a plan in place to get all things wedding, home and life paid off! #debtfreelife (<– ha, yeah right!)
3. Do summer.
A co-worker ask me last week how my summer was going and I said poor. Ugh, its horrible but true. I haven’t been able to enjoy this summer so far at all because my schedule has been jam packed with doing things. Between wedding things (ours and others) and house things my weekends have been chewed up and spit out on Monday mornings when I find myself back in the office.
In August I want to do summer. I want to spend time in Maine on my boat. I want to kayak. I want to lounge on the beach. I want to actually get a little bit tan. Hopefully this isn’t a pipe dream!
