On the docket this weekend was rock climbing, Orangetheory and a walk at Maudslay State Park.
Good morning and happy Monday. Today feels like one of those Mondays where you are completely unprepared to take on the week. The weekend went by way to fast and I didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted but I did have a lot of fun!
I did something on Friday that I’ve never done before…rock climbing! One of SL’s friend’s girlfriends reached out and invited me to go with her and I immediately said yes. Heights have never bothered me and trying new things is always a-ok in my book.
We mostly used the auto-belay machines so we could all climb as we wanted. I probably got 6 or 7 climbs in before my arms felt like they were going to fall off.
I didn’t get home until late and went to bed shortly after.
Saturday morning started bring and early as SL had class. I read for a little in bed before getting ready for Orangetheory.
I switched things up this time and hopped on the treadmill to start. I ended up having the best, sweatiest, hardest workout I’ve had in a while.
The rest of Saturday included grocery shopping meal prep (I made this), talking to my mom on the phone and getting a facial.
Once SL got home from work, I served up dinner (French Dip Sandwiches) and we watched the latest Planet Earth II episode. I was exhausted from the day and week and ended up passing out in bed by 10:30 pm.
Sunday and Maudslay State Park
Sunday started with sleeping in then a nice cold brew iced coffee with cashew milk. Nothing better!
After breakfast and a few chores (and an episode of Revenge Body!) SL and I ventured into the cold and explored Maudslay State Park.
We walked around for about 40 minutes until the cold got the best of us. Before heading back to the car, I did manage to get a nice picture of the river.
The rest of Sunday included laundry, making dinner and lounging on the couch before an early bedtime.
Weekly Workouts (last week)
Monday: 45-minute bootcamp – I DIED!!
Tuesday: Yoga and it felt so good after bootcamp class
Wednesday: 45-minute cycle class
Thursday: 30-minute cycle class
Friday: 30-minute cycle class + rock climbing
Sunday: REST! My body was more than ready for a day off. Our walk at the park was very slow!
This Week’s Menu
I talked a little bit about a couple new cookbooks I got on Friday so I figured making a meal plan mostly from them would be appropriate.
Monday: Maple Chili Pork Chops from PaleOMG + asparagus
Tuesday: Honey Lemon Sticky Chicken (Juli Bauer’s Paleo Cookbook) + cauliflower rice
Wednesday: Teriyaki Beef & Broccoli Loaded Potatoes (Fed & Fit cookbook)
Thursday: Leftovers (hopefully…)
Friday: Panang Curry (Fed & Fit cookbook)
Saturday: Wing it!
Sunday: Garam Masala Beef & Butternut Stew (Fed & Fit cookbook)
I hope you all have a great Monday and a great week!
