Hello hello! This has been a big week for me as I officially became an auntie! My sister and brother-in-law welcomed their first baby this Tuesday at 1:59 pm. Baby Grace is happy, healthy and mom and dad are doing great as well.
Ok, back to me – I started a new job last week and have been very busy and not writing as much as I would like. I wrote a couple “Currently” post back in June and March and though it would be fun to write another one. This is a little bit like the Thinking Out Loud brain dump I did last week but with a more organized spin.
Currently: September 2016
All things curry.
I have been majorly loving this particular spice lately. Some of my favorite recipes are:
- Spicy Red Lentil Curry
- Green Curry and Mango Salsa (I’ve used this as a based but switched up shrimp and used basil and each time its been so good)
- Slow Cooker Basil Chicken in Coconut Curry Sauce (I’m OBSESSED with this one!)
Our anniversary trip to Ireland!!!
We leave in less than 2 weeks. Unlike our honeymoon, we don’t have much of anything planned. We are going to explore Dublin and maybe rent a car and explore the countryside a little but other than that, we are kind of taking it slow.
Currently Listening To
The Lively Show podcast. This is one of my newer favorite podcasts and luckily, I have a bunch of back episodes to listen to. Jess, the host, is rather deep and I have been loving her musings lately.
I need a weekend where I don’t feel like I need another weekend after it to recuperate. This weekend is looking obligation-free and I can’t wait.
Mango smoothies. Recently, I have been making simple mango smoothies with 1 cup of fruit, 1 1/2 cup coconut water, 1 scoop of protein powder and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric (<– you can’t taste it). So good!
Currently Day Dreaming About
My ideal day. I did this practice from Braid Creative practice early this year and have been trying to implement pieces of it in my daily life.
Currently Indulging In
I bought a Dove dark chocolate bar last night. Who am I? I can’t remember the last time I bought a candy bar. But it was so good and well worth it.
Nothing? I know as soon as I post this I will remember something that I should be doing but am not.
To make more time for doing things I want to do. I would love to blame this on our busy weekends but its just as much my fault. In trying to get back into some sort of routine now that summer is coming to an end, I have been falling into the wake up, workout, work, cook dinner, go to bed trap.
Time to make a little more Emily time!
Having our house full put together.
We did a big kitchen renovation in the spring and now we have to focus on the living room and dining room area. The problem is, I can’t decide what I want to do. Furniture is so expensive so I am hesitant to make any decisions. I just want it to be done and perfect looking!
My new baby niece Grace.
She is perfection! My whole week has been consumed with Grace time. She comes home to my sister and brother-in-law’s house tonight and I’m sure I will be making a few stops over to visit her. I am so excited to be an aunt and to have a baby in the family.
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica. I have been really getting into my local library lately. They have an amazing selection and I hope to keep my reading game going strong over the winter.
I have two books on hold that I am really excited about and I am hoping at least one of them becomes available by the time I finish my current one.
I have been loving the Lady Gang podcast and I find Becca Tobin to be hysterical. I never got into Glee when it was on TV but now that it is on
>> Thank you to Amanda for hosting Thinking Out Loud!
