Hey hey hey it’s Friday! I am so excited for this weekend for three reasons: 1) It’s a 3 day weekend! 2) It’s Valentine’s Day, which I love and 3) SL and I will be celebrating our 5 year date-iversary.
I can’t believe how much the two of us have accomplished over the past five years – together and as a couple. But enough about that. Let’s get down to my Friday favorites for this week.
- Family/Friend time
On Wednesday night I swung by my parent’s house to say hi and we Skyped my sister in and we all chatted for at least 45 minutes. It was so nice to be all “together” for a bit. Now that my sister and I are adults, the 4 of us (including my parents) don’t spend as much time together as I would like. It was great to just hang out and chat about life.
Last night I met up with 3 of my closest friends (two of them are pregnant :)) and we had dinner and chatted for hours. Even though we all see each other fairly regularly, I still feel like we have tons to talk about every time we see each other. I’ve known these girls since high school and feel lucky that we are all still so close.
- Date Weekend
Speaking of family/friend time, SL and I have 3 dates planned for the long weekend and I am so excited! Friday we are going to the Boston Symphony Orchestra with SL’s BFF (do guys use the word BFF?) and his girlfriend. The show starts at 8:00pm and we are planning on getting dinner beforehand.
Then on Sunday we have 2 dates! The first is a workout date at the studio I have been going to. The owner invited members (mostly female) to drag their significant others in for a V-day Challenge. After a little arm twisting, I got SL to say yes. I can’t wait to see him sweat it out on the spin bike.
After our couples workout, our real Valentine’s Day date starts – at the local pizza place! SL and I are really low key on this particular holiday and really enjoy pizza so its a win-win!
Oh Regina George, I love you! But my vests are not disgusting. I’ve been living in my three vests this winter. I have two from Columbia (this one in white and black) and a red and navy plaid one from White Plum that isn’t on their site any more. I am dying to buy this one from white plum too!
Monday of this week was a snow day so I was working from home and remembered that I have been wanting to watch the show Quantico. Like a true basic bitch on a snow day, I plowed through every single episode of season 1 as I was coding emails for work. I love this show and am looking forward to season 2 which will begin airing next month.
You guys – these are amazing. I don’t even like banana bread and I love these so much. I’ve been good and sticking to eating a single serving (one muffin) but I could probably eat the whole batch in one sitting. They were super easy to make and because the recipes yields a dozen, I was able to freeze half so they would keep even longer.
Let’s run a quick math problem here, just in case I do eat a whole batch next time I make them:
1 Chocolate Banana Bread Muffin (180 calories) x 12 = 2,160 calories consumed
1 Cycle class = 450 calories burned
Therefore, eating the whole batch of muffins would require taking 4.8 extra spin classes that week to burn them off.
I hope everyone has as great of a weekend as I plan on having!
