You guys, we made it! We made it to Friday and its a three day weekend! SL and I have a bunch of outdoor plans and plan on fully embracing this Memorial Day weekend.
In true Friday fashion, I am sharing some of my favorite things from the week in this week’s Friday Favorites post.
Friday Favorites #52
3 Day Weekends
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the 3 day weekends are my favorite! I was given the OK to clock out after lunch today so this long weekend will actually be a 3.5 day weekend! We haven’t had a long weekend since February – we are way over due. I plan on completely taking advantage for the time off.
Baby Shower Color Scheme
I am hosting my sister’s baby shower in August and couldn’t be more excited. She is having a girl but didn’t want her shower to be over loaded with pink. She also could not decide on a theme so we came up with a color palette to work from and will incorporate a tasteful amount of baby animals.

Could I be more of a basic bitch? But this stuff was really good. SL and I got the bottle at a wine tasting back in March and should have gotten two bottles. We enjoyed this whole bottle with steamers that SL dug up and cooked himself last Saturday.
I could see this becoming a staple in our house this summer. As delicious as it is on its own, I can see it making a great mixed drink!
Trying New Workout Classes
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week I tried different classes. I am so routine when it comes to a lot of things in life and I have found myself in a VERY routine weekly workout schedule lately. Well, not this week. Here is what my workout schedule this week looked like:
- Monday: S5 XTraining & PiYo (<— I’m planning to post a full PiYo review next week!)
- Tuesday: PiYo (with a different instructor)
- Wednesday: 30 min HiiT
Wednesday’s class ended with a killer pyramid:
- 50 toe taps
- 40 jacks
- 30 (something I can’t remember – maybe high knees?)
- 20 squats
- 10 push ups
- 5 burpees
- Run a lap around the building
I was a sweaty mess after this workout and was glad it was only 30 minutes. I don’ think I could have managed anything more.
On Wednesday, after work, I headed to the beach for an hour. It was perfect and I look forward to many more nights of it this summer.
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoy the weekend and I will be back next week with a weekend recap and my review of PiYo!
