Double whammy – its Friday and its pay day! 🎉🎉
SL and I are gearing up for another fun and relaxing weekend in Maine. We are both blowing off some commitments this weekend to enjoy time with each other and my parents before the summer wedding season really starts to ramp up. We have non-negotiable commitments every week from next weekend through September 10th!
With that said, lets get into my Friday Favorites for this week. I can’t believe we are already half way through July.
Friday Favorites #59
I was at the beach when I discovered a great ramen salad recipe in a magazine and decided to order ramen on Amazon right then and there so I wouldn’t forget.
I accidentally ordered 36 packets of ramen. Ooops! Ramen for months!
I made the magazine ramen salad last weekend and it was delish and this week I made a Blue Apron ramen recipe from scratch. It came out great and I serve it with a crispy pork chop.
If you are wondering, no – I absolutely did not use the sodium laden “spice” packet that comes with the ramen. I made my own broth and it tasted much better.
Last night, SL and I had ramen with cabbage, scallions, snap peas, and mucho nacho peppers (peas and peppers from the garden) along with panko encrusted pork chops.
Victoria’s Secret Bra
I have been loving my Victoria’s secret sports bras lately and even ordered a new one this week.
I love the strappy front and even wear it with low cut tanks when I am not working out. I am incredibly bummed that VS is not going to selling active wear for much longer because their pieces are some of my favorites.
Right now, this bra is only $25! Check it out.
Hater gonna hate but I am loving this hot weather. 90° and sunny? I’ll take that all day over cold and snowy.
Luckily, SL and I invested in central air this summer so our house is nice and cool so I don’t know if I would be as happy about this if we were living in a sweat box but we aren’t. So yes, I am loving the heat.
I got home from work last night and was a little hungry but didn’t want to spoil dinner and actually wanted something sweet (which is very unlike me). I happened to be watching Pioneer Woman (#girlcrush) and she made cinnamon toast. I knew this was exactly what I wanted and the recipe could not have been easier.
I mixed 1 tablespoon of Earth Balance soy free buttery spread with 1 packet of Truvia, a dash of cinnamon and a couple drops of vanilla extract. I mixed it all together and spread it on two pieces of Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin Sprouted Whole Grain Bread then toasted it.
I fully intended to take picture of the toast and failed miserably because I ate it immediately. It was so so so good and I will absolutely be making it on the regular. Cinnamon toast would be a great post-dinner “dessert.”
For mouthwatering pictures, check out the Pioneer Woman’s recipe.
