Oh hi friends. It’s Friday 🎉 👊🏼 😃 👯
What are you up to this weekend? SL and I are running a 5k tonight, my mom and I are getting lunch and pedicures on Saturday and on Sunday I am hoping to do something fun outside (hike, kayak, explore…). I’m looking forward to a no-frills weekend with some beautiful spring weather.
In my typical Friday fashion, I am chatting about some of my favorite things this week. Somehow, I managed to not make them all food which is a minor miracle. SO without further ado, here are my Friday Favorites (#86!)
La Montanara Style Pizza
La Montanara style pizza is hand stretched and flash fried in hot oil. Think like a crispy fried dough crust but not sweet.
Look at that beautiful crust!
I tried this pizza dough style last Friday during a birthday lunch celebration with co-workers. Add La Montanara style pizza to the incredibly lost list of why pizza is the best ever!
Speaking of pizza – SL and I are running a 5k tonight that is giving out free pizza at the end. It might be my fastest race yet!
Steel Cut Oats
While in Camden, SL grabbed a bowl of steel cut oats for breakfast and I was surprised because I’d never seen him eat oatmeal. Turns out, he wasn’t a huge fan but the steel cut oats looked good to meal so I tried a little bite and LOVED them.
Pretty quickly, I ordered a bag of Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Steel Cut Oats through Thrive Market (<– referral link) and used the crock pot method to cook them which made 4 servings. So far this week I’ve topped my oats with strawberries and honey, tossed in chicken sausage and made a savory spice blend to mix in.
I started watching Revenge last Friday and am quickly working my way through the first season.
Emily VanCamp should be in more things. I love her in this and love that she and co-star, Josh Bowman, are engaged! I’m so lame. SO be it.
I’ve been dying to do one of these genetic tests and I finally broke down and bought one. They had a $20 off Mother’s Day sale going on last week and it was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
I’ll be sure to share my results when I get them in which could be up to 6 weeks away. My grandmother’s mother (on my mom’s side) was adopted so it will be cool to figure out where her heritage might have been. I know I have some Finnish, Italian and French Canadian in me (at least that’s what I’ve been told).
How cool would it be to find out I was part Thai or Egyptian or Chilean? I really want there to be some surprises…fingers crossed!
Gigi Leather T-strap Sandals
These Same Edelman sandals came in my latest Stitch Fix Box and I am obsessed with them.
I have a feeling they will be my go-to summer sandal and I am considering buying a second pair in another color.
Clean Eating Magazine
On my way to the beach last night after work, I picked up Clean Eating magazine for the first time. I read it cover to cover and went home and made one of the recipes for dinner.
This edition of Clean Eating also featured a fun two week eating plan that I might try (loosely) over the next couple weeks. This might be a mag that I actually subscribe to…we’ll see!
