I know I said last week that I was going to make Friday Favorites a monthly thing but I changed my mind. April Fools! Well, April Fools mostly to me because I have no idea how often I will write these posts but this Friday Favorites April post couldn’t not be written!
I’ve been working on being more present lately and being grateful for the smaller things in life and these posts really help me look back and be grateful for everything.
Friday Favorites April 1
Mixing Up My Workouts Week
This past week has been really low energy me. I think its mostly because I’m over the cold weather and ready for summer.
Sunday – Easter Sunday Showdown at Studio 5. This was a really fun pop-up type class where we did some boxing, arm work and core work. The hour flew by quickly then it was time to celebrate the holiday!
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – I went to a 30 minute “QuickFit” class at lunch and got a little bit of my sweat on but was fully planning for a longer evening workout. I was waitlisted for a spin class and didn’t get in – this NEVER happens and opted to just make dinner and chill instead of busting out something in our gym basement.
Wednesday – Yoga + 3 miles outside with SL (Splits: Mile 1 – 8:41 // Mile 2 – 8:45 // Mile 3: 8:59 <– super strong headwind!)
Thursday– Pilates and boy did I need it!
Friday – very sweaty but short cycle class.
SL and My 6 Month Anniversary
We’ve been married for 6 whole months ya’ll! We deserve a goddamn medal!
Instead, we are celebrating a friend’s birthday with dinner out. The restaurant he chose is Chinese and serves pork buns which I hunted down in Singapore’s chinatown on our honeymoon so I feel like its fitting.
Blue Apron Chicken Fried Chicken
I love all food, that’s no surprise but I am seriously crushing on this Chicken Fried Chicken recipe from my latest Blue Apron shipment. I added extra arugula to the collard greens for a little more greenery. I also learned a new way to make baked sweet potatoes and I am never going to back to my old way!
Yes, this picture is horrible but the food was amazing!
Need I say more? I bought some Easter candy to have in the house for when we hosted our Adult Egg Hunt but have plenty left over. Normally I consider myself an abstainer (<– learn more in Julie’s post) but I have been able to moderate myself this week. 🙌 🙌
This is nothing new for me but this week I have been crushing it this week. I’ve had it almost every single day.
How do I take my avo-toast? 2 slices of Ezekiel 4:9 Sesame Sprouted Whole Grain Bread, 1/2 avocado smashed with pepper and garlic salt. Super simple but the BEST THING EVER right now. I also love it with Ezekiel Cinnamon Raisin bread.
A few times this week I also added a side of egg whites, either hard boiled or scrambled.
Now it’s time to sign off for the weekend. I hope everyone enjoys their first weekend of April!
