Lately, I have been wanting cut down on the traditional antibiotic-filled grocery store meat so I opted to give this new service a try. Below is my Greensbury Market review, but first, a little background.
I have been listening to the Jillian Michaels podcast for a long time now and when she did a segment on some things she likes she mentioned Greensbury Market. I had never heard of the service but instantly Googled it to see if it was something I could 1) Be interested in; and 2) Afford.
The answers were yes and yes.
I spent about 30 minutes on their site looking at my options and ultimately made a purchase!
Greensbury Market is like Thrive Market but for meat and seafood.
Greensbury Market Review
They say it the best on their website:
We bring you fresh, organic and sustainable meat and seafood from small American organic farms and sustainable fisheries straight to your door.
Although I was a little overwhelmed with all of the options available, ordering my meat was super easy. You can order a la carte but I chose to go with a pack for my first order. I chose the Chef Bill Telepan pack (no longer available) because it had a great mix of beef, chicken and fish.
Here is what I got:
2 1lb Organic Grass-fed Ground Beef
3-4lb Organic Whole Chicken
2 8oz Organic, Grass-fed Flank Steaks
6 6oz Boneless Pork Chops
2 Boneless, Skinless, Sustainably Raised Atlantic Salmon Fillets
(Although this pack is not longer available, all of these items are available for purchase a la carte)
The price for all of this meat was $147.50 but I signed up for their email list and got a code for 15% off. After some quick math, I realized I could use this meat and fish to make 28 meals (lunches and dinner) which is well within my budget especially since this is all organic!
Here is what I have made so far with all of the Greensbury Market goodies!
Roasted Chicken #1
- Roasted chicken meal (2 meals)
- Crockpot Chicken Soup (6 meals)
- Chicken Bacon Breakfast Strata (6 meals)
- Bone broth (<— I was so excited to make this for the first time and it came out so so good!)
Ground Beef #1 & #2
- Chili (6 meals)
- Beef and pasta Skillet (6 meals)
- Mexican Spiced Salmon with Black Rice, Avocado & Orange Salad (2 meals)
- Seared salmon with sautéed mushroom pasta (2 meals)
Pork Chops #1 -4
- Spiced pork chop with rice and salad (2 meals)
- Crispy pork chop (panko-crusted) with pesto orzo and baked sweet potato (2 meals)
Flank Steak #1
- with Asparagus-Spinach Pesto, pearl couscous and more asparagus (2 meals)
So far I have loved everything and so has SL. The meat is all very fresh and flavorful and it makes me so happy to be preparing and eating grass-fed, organic meat. I have made 36 meals and still have plenty more to cook my way through.
Once I finish everything I have in my freezer I will absolutely be buying from Greensbury Market in the future.
I hope you enjoyed this Greensbury Market review as much I have enjoyed all of my meat from Greensbury Market!
