Summer is in full swing and its BBQ season! I have used this hamburger spice blend with both beef and turkey and it has been perfect with each. SL even commented on the deliciousness of this spice blend.
Normally, I am a very routine person but during the summer I tend to be far less structured and far more go with the flow. This means lots of last minute meal ideas or take out! Take out near me can get expensive so having a few pounds of super versatile ground meat in my freezer for last minute meals is key.
Burgers are so easy and are always a crowd pleasure in my house.
I’ve been making burgers a lot lately due to my latest Greensbury Market order. I wanted to spice things up (pun intended) to I turned to my spice cabinet and pulled out everything I thought would work well together. This hamburger spice blend is delicious and perfectly complement beef or turkey.
Up until now, I’ve always made hamburgers with no spices. I would just use the plain ground meat. Never again. I always have these staple spices in my kitchen so it is almost as easy to add some yumminess to the meat as it is to leave it plain.
Hamburger Spice Blend
- 1 lb. of ground beef or turkey
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
Mix all ingredients and form into 4 patties. Cook as you see fit. I like to grill or quickly pan fry is a huge skillet.
On Saturday night, I served up burgers with this hamburger spice blend along side a cucumber, tomato and pepper salad with jalapeño and a quick homemade balsamic dressing. It was the perfect summer evening meal.
