Good morning and hello 2017! 2016 wasn’t really my year so I wasn’t sad to see it go as the ball dropped on Saturday night.
I had grand plans of starting to prep for our NYE party on Friday after work but none of it happened. By the time I got home and heated up leftover enchiladas I was no longer in “productive mode.” Instead, I finished watching season 1 of This Is Us.
I was really hoping to get into cycle class at the studio on Saturday morning but was waitlisted and didn’t. Boo. So I weighed in for my DietBet which starts today. The number on the scale was on the high side for me but to be expected after a month of indulging.
Because we were hosting a NYE party, I hit up the grocery store and started cooking up a storm. From noon until about 6:00 pm I was in the kitchen making all sorts of things for the party.
Right around 7:00 pm, people started showing up and it was party time.
Cleaning up the house was the first thing on my agenda on Sunday morning. The house wasn’t in shambles from the party but it needed work. After cleaning, SL and I set out for a New Year’s Day walk in the sand dunes.
It was so beautiful out and we covered almost 5 miles of sandy dune walking.
We walked from the green trail to the red to the orange and back to the green. We were out there for almost 90 minutes and for the most part, had the trails all to ourselves.
We made a pact to spend Sundays in 2017 do active things together and we will definitely be back to the dunes.
Unfortunately, I don’t have today off so I have to get to work. Happy 2017 everyone and may this being the year of joy for everyone.
