Its Monday my friends and another weekend is in the books. Before we get started, I have a fun fact to share – this is my 400th post! Yay me! I love blogging and even if no one reads, I will continue to write. Ok, moving on.
How was your weekend? Mine was busy and filled with sunny heats and summer heat.
SL and I had a low key Friday night planned because we both had early mornings planned for Saturday. I was cooking dinner when SL came in from feeding the fish (we have an outdoor koi pond) and told me that we had a problem.
How could he think this adorable face is a problem?
The baby deer (fawn) was left on our back deck by his momma and we had no idea what to do. SL called our town’s animal control officer who said to let nature take its course and that mother deer often leave there fawn but do eventually come back for them.
Fast forward to…
Around 4:30 am I woke up to hearing scratching sounds and mewing coming from our back deck. The fawn was struggling to walk and honestly, it all sounded heartbreaking.
But then I realized that momma had come back to get her fawn and she was making him come to her. The fawn eventually made it to momma and immediately started to feed.
This was one of, if not the coolest nature thing I have ever seen. My heart felt so full watching the momma and baby reunite and then go about their day.
After this little nature miracle, I was up and ready to run. We had a short run planned for run club and the 4 miles went by quickly.
I spent the rest of the day Saturday doing chores and taking a nap. When SL got home from class, I mentioned Mexican for dinner and he was happy to oblige.
We both ordered ground beef burritos that came with deliciously crispy chips. We tried to walk off dinner a bit after and were able to catch a beautiful sunset.
Once we got home, I insisted we start watching the newest season of Orange is the New Black. I am so happy it’s back and can’t wait to see where the season takes us!
Our Sunday was full of activities. So full that I totally didn’t take any pictures. The day started with iced coffees on the beach with two of our best friends. It was so hot and the water was SO cold but it was the perfect way to start a Sunday.
From there, SL and I headed to our friend’s baby’s first birthday party then to a town block party and then on to our friend’s 28th birthday party.
I think I spent 12 full outside on Sunday and it was amazing. By the time Sunday night rolled around, I made sandwiches for dinner (so lazy) and SL and settled in with more OITNB because calling it a night at 10:00 pm.
I had such a great weekend and now I have to try to get back into workweek mode…ugh!
