January and February were a rollercoaster like you wouldn’t believe. I’m not ready to talk about everything just yet but I eventually will be. In short, I didn’t have the energy to write about what was going on and I couldn’t post lighthearted fluff and pretend like everything was ok.
With that said, I am getting back to my new normal and I’m excited to write here, in my little corner of the internet.
Read on for some lighthearted fluff and weekend adventures! Jkjkjk my weekend was really dull but I’m still going to tell you all about it!
The heavens opened up on Friday and the rain came down in sheets and the wind was unlike anything I’ve witnessed. We’ve been in our house for three years and have never lost power, until Friday night. Around 7:15 the lights flickered then went dark.
Luckily, I had picked up Thai on my way home from work so dinner wasn’t in jeopardy. Dodged that bullet.
We sat in the dark reading until bedtime. I started We Were Liars by E. Lockhart and I can tell it will be a fast read.
Saturday morning – still no power. But that didn’t stop me from heading to Orangetheory. They had power. The workout was a 3G with partners and was very tough and sweaty.
One of my friends tried to talk me into taking a 90-minute class but NO. Sixty minutes is long enough for me, thank you.
Because we still had no power, SL and I headed to my parents for the rest of the afternoon which worked out because they got a new PUPPY!!!!
He’s perfect and my new best friend. I forced him to hang with me for hours.
SL and I eventually dragged ourselves away from Sheldon and went home to POWER! Then we went out to dinner because there was no food in the house. After dinner I fell asleep on the couch watching Stranger Things. Sheldon really tired me out!
After a slow start, SL and I went for a nice walk.
After our walk, we decided to try a new-to-us BBQ place that my parents recommended.
My mom was raving about their food so I went in with high expectations and the Rusty Can did not disappoint.
This meal served as both lunch and dinner because it was SOOO much food. After linner (???) we went home, got a few chores done and watched the final episode of Waco. Despite knowing how everything went down, it was still shocking to watch.
Notice what’s missing from this weekend? Meal prep. Losing most of Saturday due to no power meant no grocery shopping and no cooking. Good thing we have leftovers!
Because I feel like I have my shit together when I post about workouts and meal plans, here are my workouts and meal plans.
Weekly Workouts (last week)
2018 started slow. I had to take a few weeks off completely but I am back on the workout train and happy to be back.
Monday: AM treadmill walk (while watching Scandal) + Yoga/Pilates class
Tuesday: 45-minute OTF (I’ve been loving the shorter OTF classes!)
Wednesday: 2.72-mile walk outside (it was beautiful out) + hot yoga
Sunday: 3-mile walk
This Week’s Menu
Just like workouts, the beginning of 2018 was rough on the meals. Now that we are almost into March, I’m getting my shit back together.
Monday (tonight!): Taco salads (prepped over the weekend!)
Tuesday: Chicken tenders + roasted red pepper pasta
Wednesday: Chicken wings + roasted veggies
Thursday: Leftovers! SL has volleyball so I am on my own
Saturday – Sunday: I’ll figure it out then…
