Setting goals is one of my greatest joys in life. So much so that I’m starting the year by putting my January 2017 goals on the internet for all to see. A lot of things are up in the air for 2017 so focusing on month-to-month goals rather than big yearly goals is how I’m rolling this year.
January 2017 Goals
Cook 4 new recipes
I spent a fair amount of time falling down the PaleOMG rabbit hole last week and pinned TONS of new recipes. Neither SL or I are follow a paleo diet, but I love the foods that fit into the lifestyle.
My first recipe is done and done! I made PaleOMG’s Almost 5 Ingredient Pizza Spaghetti Pie and it was a HUGE hit. I ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner on New Year’s Day!
Funny story – this recipe is not the most photogenic so when I took it out of the oven SL said, “Don’t even try to make me eat that.” Ok fine, more for me. I took one bite and LOVED it and did make him try it.
Verdict – SL loved it too! I think this recipe will become a staple in our household.
Win my DietBet
I signed up for my second DietBet and am challenging myself to lose 4% of my current body weight. The final weigh-in is January 30th so I have some work to do.
Super cute weight in photo complete with cat photo-bomber 😼
The plan is to work out daily, whether its yoga or running or barre or whatever. I am also following the Tone It Up Look for Love recipes.
Dry January
Dry January means no adult beverages for the month. I did it last year and it was kind of tough but worth it. There has been a lot of wine drinking this holiday season so I am sure my liver will thank me for the break.
Get back to blogging about my food and workouts
That’s how this whole thing got started and I miss it. Yes, still want to write about travel and work things but I’m getting back to basics over here.
Food and fitness are my two favorite hobbies so it make sense for me to want to talk about them, right?!
Good luck with the Diet Bet! Happy New Year 🙂
Thanks! Time to work off all of that extra holiday wine!
It sounds like you have some great goals! I’ve never done a dietbet but they seem to be really popular and work well! I love the idea of going dry for a month…I didn’t drink during Lent and it was a challenge but I was happy to make it through!
For some reason when I know I have money on the line, I stick to clean eating MUCH better!
