It’s finally 2017. As I look back at 2016, so many great things happened but also, so many not too great things happened. But when I take a look back at 2016 I want to remember the highs and low and learn from them in the coming years.
Erin from Erin’s Inside Job wrote a post just like this, taking a look back at 2016 and I loved the idea. She broke the year into four categories: life, travel, fitness and blogging. And I am doing the same. But break it up because I am wordy AF today.
A Look Back at 2016: Travel
I was fortunate to do a fair amount of traveling in 2016. But I always want to travel more and more (and more and more!!)
Work trips to Baltimore and Las Vegas opened the year and I was lucky enough to have SL along for the ride in Las Vegas.
The conference I was attending was amazing but the food in Las Vegas was my favorite part of the trip!
Fresh off a red eye from Vegas, SL and I drove up to Sunday River for a ski weekend with about 20 of our friends. We skied for two days and enjoyed a fun weekend away. Skiing at Sunday River.
The in late September/early October we traveled Ireland for our 1 year anniversary. I fell in love with this country and will absolutely be back!
Things about travel prompting me to write one of my favorite posts of the year, Travel vs. Vacation where I discuss the differences between the two and my own preferences.
In 2016 I also (finally) started to post about our amazing Southeast Asia honeymoon. I think part of my soul is Southeast Asian.
Travel is important to both SL and I and because of that, I got him this map for Christmas.
We put little pins in places we’ve been and can’t help but discuss all of the place we want to go in the future.
Taking a look back at 2016 travel made me realize a few things:
- It wasn’t my busiest travel year
- It wasn’t my least busy travel year
- I really enjoy writing about traveling
- I want to ensure 2017 has plenty of travel opportunities
And finally, thank you Amanda for letting me Think Out Loud.
