You guys … it’s almost Friday. We are getting so close to the weekend! I’m looking forward to an Orangetheory class, a facial and sleeping in on Sunday.
Ok, now moving forward to today’s post. Let’s talk about goals!
My February goals were light. I wanted to take 3 new fitness classes (one of them being Orangetheory) and take a course of some sort. I was able to take 2 new fitness classes which was great but more exciting, I am now enrolled in the NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialization program.
Yes, this course is expensive but I was able to bundle it with another course to get a discount and set up a payment plan with the company. Learning is something I don’t mind spending money on.
When I was in college, I took a nutrition class and loved it. Now I wonder why I didn’t continue down that path?! I guess I’ll never know. This specialization certification counts towards my personal trainer re-certification as well.
The specialization covers:
- How to interpret labels, select appropriate portion sizes, and eat healthy
- Education about nutrition’s critical role in weight loss and management
- How energy balance, caloric needs, activity, metabolism, and food choices impact fitness goals
And so much more!
I have a good base knowledge and am looking forward to learning more and getting this new certification!
1. Get CPR/AED/First Aid Re-Certification
This certification expires in April and I need to re-cert for my NASM re-cert. I also think it’s important to have just to be a better citizen of the world.
2. Run 40 miles
This seems like a big running goal for me because I just started running again but I think I can do it. I might adjust this a little if the weather is nice in March and I can get outside. I can always run further (and faster) when I am outside.
Run Club starts up again in April and I am probably going to join. This year, the group will be training for a half marathon in June. I am undecided on whether or not I want to run the half but I love the group that runs together!

So far this month, I am zero miles in! Haha. I do plan on running after work tonight though.
