Today I’m talking about my grocery store staples, embarrassing myself while bowling and a new bracelet that I have been coveting for weeks.
Good morning and welcome to a new week. I have a lot of un-fun adulting to do this week so needless to say, I am already looking forward to the weekend. Oh, and there is a potential snow storm coming. Eff off winter – I’m ready for spring!
I’m counting down weekend fun in a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1-themed post (here is another). It’s a little unusual, but let’s just roll with it! I hope you guys had a great weekend!
5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Weekend
5 – Grocery store staples
My weekly grocery store staples are nothing special but if I don’t have them, my whole week gets thrown off.
Whether it be almond, coconut or cashew, I buy a carton of nut mile every week. This week was unsweetened cashew.
I am obsessed with kombucha and drink it almost daily. This is not a cheap habit and I’ve considered making my own but the thought of growing a big ball of bacteria in my kitchen grosses my out.
Right now Olivia’s Organics is my favorite and I go through at least 2 containers a week.
SL eats a banana every weekday for breakfast along with yogurt and I use 1/2 of a banana in my smoothies multiple days a week.
This is new development. Ever since I found Green Giant’s riced vegetables I have been stalking up. Yes, it’s more expensive than making my own but it is so much easier!
4 – Strings Bowled
On Saturday afternoon SL and I went bowling. Neither of us had been bowling in years and it showed! We we so bad but had a great time.
Question – Do all bowling alleys have a cosmic theme? Or is it just the ones in my area?
3 – Miles ran on Sunday
Actually it was 3.39 miles but whose counting. I ran on the treadmill and watched the first 1/3 of Finding Dory.
I could have gone longer but I was running slowly but I was anxious to eat lunch 🙂
2 – Adult beverages at a new-to-us bar
After bowling on Saturday, SL and I treated our selves to drinks and apps at a hotel bar right on the water.
SL had beer (I’m not sure what) and I had a glass of Malbec. We also shared a bowl of mussels.
1 – New piece of arm candy!
I saw this hair tie bracelet on PaleOMG weeks ago and wanted it so badly but didn’t want to fork of the $45.
Finally I caved and just bought it and I am so happy I did. I have at least one hair tie on my wrist at all times and it always looks fugly.

This Week’s Menu
A couple weeks ago I was perusing the spice aisle looking for garam masala for a recipe and finally found it and was excited to use it. I also found ras el hanout which is a north African spice mix that I had once used in a Blue Apron dish and loved.
My goal this week is to use my new spices in all different types of dishes.
Monday: Dinner out. We are getting our taxes done and will most likely stop for something on the way home.
Tuesday: Ras el hanout cod, cauliflower rice + asparagus
Wednesday: Saucy Garam Masala Meatballs (<– if this turns out well I will share there recipe here) + Brussels sprouts
Friday: Ras el hanout ground beef + couscous
Saturday: Wing it!
Sunday: Slow Cooker Tikka Masala via Fannetastic Food
I hope you all have a great Monday and a great week!
