Good morning from another rainy day. My weekend can be described in just a few words: lots of meals out! Friday lunch and dinner = out. Saturday dinner = out. Sunday lunch and dinner = out! This is very atypical of me and I am looking forward to getting back in the kitchen this week.
Other than going out for lunches and dinners, my weekend was pretty run of the mill – working out and doing chores.
Although the weekend didn’t really start until I got home from work on Friday, lunch on Friday warranted chatting about. Everyone in my office had lunch at Evviva Cucina to celebrate a few birthdays.
I opted for a pizza with sausage, onion, olives and arugula.
OMG it was amazing. I could have eaten the whole thing but ended up bringing half home so not to embarrass myself in front of my co-workers.
Once home, I started to meal plan and began watching Revenge on Netflix while SL did manual labor out in the yard. I wasn’t in the mood to cook dinner so SL and I went out. I ate a salad with a mountain of baby spinach, chicken, walnuts and cranberries. Perfect pre-run fuel (kind of).
Saturday morning started with a 5 mile run with my run club.
My split were as expected:
Mile 1 – 8:39 min/mile
Mile 2 – 8:25 min/mile
Mile 3 – 8:42 min/mile
Mile 4 – 8:50 min/mile
Mile 5 – 8:57 min/mile
Right from the run, I headed to the grocery store to get chore #1 out of the way. Back at home, I made my favorite breakfast of late.
Siete Foods tortillas with scrambled egg/egg whites, homemade breakfast sausage and sriracha.
Saturday from there on out was pretty lame – I meal prepped, did laundry and took a nap.
Once SL got home, we headed to a friend’s house for a quick drink then out to dinner at Ipswich Ale Brewer’s Table.
I neglected to take any pictures but I ordered the Bison Boar Bolognese and ate the whole thing. I was starving because I napped through lunch so felt zero guilt about downing my whole meal.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you moms out there, especially mine!
Sunday was spent visiting mom’s and grandmothers as well as checking out SL’s cousin’s new house. I met up with my bestie for dinner and we chatted for two solid hours before parting ways. It was a much needed dinner for both of us!
To unwind after a day of being out of the house, I watched an episode of Shameless before calling it a night.
Was my weekend a little boring? Maybe but it was exactly what I needed to recharge me for the week.
I like to share my weekly workouts and menus on Mondays because it makes me feel like I have my shit together. So here you go…
