I’m like “Hey, what’s up? Hello” (in Fetty Wap voice). How was your weekend? Aside from the freezing cold weather and the fact that the bracket I put zero effort into is busted, mine was great.
I have a bunch of fun things to look forward to this week but I don’t want to get into that and I’d rather reminisce about the weekend.
Right from work, I met up with SL to get our taxes done. Sweet Friday night. Taxes are kind of like the dentist. No one wants to do it but once its done, you feel great. We didn’t owe any money and we aren’t dealing with MIA W2s like we have in the past so all and all, #taxes2017 was a win.
After the funfilled tax time, SL and I enjoyed a date night. Why not spend some of the tax return money! This is the third year in a row that we have “celebrated” getting our taxes done. This year we went to Kokeshi which serves up Asian street food.
Both SL and I got ramen and both were delicious. Once we got home we watched Shameless and went to bed fairly early. Super fun Friday night, as always.
My first road race of the season was Saturday morning. I’ll do a full recap later this week but it was nothing to write home about. Strike that. I actually think there is a lot to write about.
Post-race, SL and went out to lunch in our sweaty race clothes. Classy.
The restaurant down the street from our house had a bunch of St. Patty’s Day specials and I end up ordering Guinness Beef Stew and it was amazing and the perfect meal to warm me up after running in the cold. No pictures because beef stew is not great to look at.
But spicy bloody marys are photogenic so I HAD to have one!
Our friends were hosting a St. Patty’s Day party but it was cold out and I didn’t really want to leave the house again. Also, I can’t hang and day drinking isn’t for me anymore so I opted to get all my chores done and read my book.
My grocery haul was average but I did find So Delicious’ new (or maybe just new to me) almond cashew milk and it’s become an instant favorite.
I made myself a cheeseless pizza for dinner and watched Dateline to round out Saturday. I’m so cool.
Surprisingly, I got into Sunday morning’s spin class at my studio thanks to LOTS of people dropping out the night before. Luck of the Irish was on my side!
After spin, SL and I had a lazy Sunday filled with basketball (my bracket sucks this year) and reading. I started Almost Missed You and am into it so far.
When ended the night by watching I, Tonya which I LOVED. Allison Janney was amazing and it made me love her even more. That Oscar was well deserved.
And that sums up St. Patty’s Day weekend. Are you still awake or did I bore you to sleep?
Have a great Monday!
Because I feel like I have my shit together when I post about workouts and meal plans, here are my workouts and meal plans.
Weekly Workouts (last week)
This week wasn’t normal but I loved it. I did not love not getting to an Orangetheory class but I’ll be back on the OTF bandwagon next week.
Monday: Yoga/Pilates class
Tuesday: 2-mile treadmill walk (SNOW DAY!)
Wednesday: Studio 5 Pop Up class – This class was half on the spin bike and half on the floor (which was mostly strength)
Sunday: 45-minute cycle class
This Week’s Menu
Monday (tonight!): Filets in the cast iron (SL is so good at cooking steaks so I’m going to let him cook 😊) + salad
Tuesday: Out with a friend!
Wednesday: Baked chicken thighs+ asparagus covered with Primal Palate New Bae seasoning, my current obsession.
Thursday: Mezze platter (aka throwing together weird stuff I have lying around)
Friday: Out for a friend’s birthday
Saturday – Sunday: I’ll figure it out then…
