Hi and Happy Thursday – aka Friday eve! This week has been brutally slow for me and am and more than happy that tomorrow is Friday! I’m trying something new this Thursday and allowing a brain dump and joining the Thinking Out Loud link up!
So here we go….
Thinking Out Loud
1 | Immediately after reading Anne’s vacation itinerary post I sent the link to my husband telling him we will be taking that exact vacation. Western Canada has never been on my bucket list, until now that is. I love the the trip centered around hiking (one of my favorite activities). Her pictures are STUNNING and look almost fake.
I look forward to reading more posts about her trip and scheduling my own!
2 | Speaking of travel, I have been re-writing some of my Iceland posts from 2013 and now I want to go back there too! That was such an amazing trip and I am dying to take SL there and have him see some of the same sights as I saw.
- Gullfoss – the most majestic waterfall I have ever seen
- Icelandic horses that have better hair than I ever will
- A day at the Blue Lagoon will solve all of your problems
3 | One reason I am excited for this week to be over is because I have felt really disorganized. Last Sunday I didn’t do any of my routine chores (grocery shopping, meal prep, laundry) instead, I hung out with my mom and then some friends. I have felt really discombobulated this week but switching up routine is always good right? 💁
4 | I did manage to make pesto this week and it was amazing. I am currently eating it on everything from cod to english muffins.
5 | Working on a campaign for work and trying to figure out the best possible font combination using Google Fonts. I want one handwritten font and one sans-serif font. I haven’t gotten it quite right yet but right now I am using Over the Rainbow and Raleway.
I’m thinking of changing Raleway to something else but I haven’t found the right font yet. Any suggestions? Tweet me: @alwaysemilyh
6 | If I am really sharing all of the thoughts, I need to share that I recently interviewed for a DREAM job and found out that I didn’t get it. I went into the interview thinking I had it all in the bag. The job description was spot on to my qualifications and the CEO of the company and I really hit it off on the phone and in person.
Getting the awkward rejection email for this position really hit me hard. Not like sobbing and eating a whole pizza hard but more internally like “How is this even possible?”
Lessons learned I guess – never count your chickens before they hatch. And typing it all out felt pretty good!
>> Thank you to Amanda for hosting Thinking Out Loud
I will be back tomorrow sharing my favorites from this weird week. Hope you have a great Thursday!
