Hi and welcome to Monday. Where did the weekend go? I had a great but unhealthy weekend and now that it is a fresh month, I decided to share with you my May Goals so I can get myself back on track.
But first, a weekend recap…
I worked from home on Friday and called it a day around 4:30 when SL got home. We had a few errands to run that turned into cocktail hour at our friend’s parent’s house (???) then to more cocktails (and wings) with friends at a local sports bar.
Generally we are homebodies on Friday nights but not this Friday! I didn’t take a single picture but I ensure you, it was a good time.
Saturday was a “Get Shit Done” type of day. I knew that I would have no time for anything on Sunday so I busted my ass Saturday to get everything in order.
I made this baking basket for Sunday’s bridal shower and I was pretty proud of how it came out.
I also made another breakfast strata that came out really well too.
After getting everything in order I made a MASSIVE batch of roasted vegetables to bring over to a friend’s house for dinner to celebrate her birthday. They came out so well and I will be making them again very very soon.
Dinner was really low key and it was nice to just hang out. The birthday girl is 8 months pregnant (her shower was last weekend) and still looks great.
I was tucked into bed by 11:00 pm on Saturday and was ready for an early wake up call.
I was up bright and early on Sunday and it wasn’t for a workout. I had to miss club this weekend because I had a bridal shower to attend down on Cape Cod. Being dressed in real clothes and leaving the house on Sunday morning at 7:30 am wasn’t my favorite thing ever but the shower was well worth it.
SL’s cousin is marrying a beautiful girl who I really like and can’t wait until she is officially part of the family. Lauren’s mom and sister hosted the shower and they thought of every detail possible. My favorite part was the mimosa bar 😉
We didn’t end up leaving the Cape until after 3:00 which meant I didn’t get home until after 6:00 (there was traffic). I had planned on making pork chops for dinner but opted for pizza instead. GOT and pizza on a Sunday night? Can’t beat it!
I haven’t posted about goals in forever so why not create a mini May Goals post?! I did accomplish one of my big financial goals last Friday and now I am going to spend May working on fitness goals.
The studio that I go to on the reg (and pretty much live at) is hosting a May Challenge and I jumped on board. Here are the parameters:
- Take 5-6 studio classes per week throughout the month of May
- Take a variety of classes
- Use heavier weights (I am totally guilty of ALWAYS grabbing 5lb weights)
- Complete the daily exercises (below)
(from the Studio 5 Facebook page)
- Eat a variety of whole foods. Limit anything with a shelf life.
- Eat 4-5 small meals a day
- Eliminate added sugar
- Limit alcohol to 3-4 days a week (I am shooting for 3)
- Sleep 7-9 hours per night
- Go OUTSIDE!
My May goals do not only include completing this challenge but taking classes that I do not normally take. During the winter I am extremely routine and take the same weekly classes over and over. I love these classes but really want to challenge myself to branch out and try new instructors and new time slots.
I also want to focus on running. I have a couple races in May and I want to push myself out of my comfort zone during them to see how great I really can be.
So there you have it, my weekend recap and my May goals. Have a wonderful Monday!
