Good morning and happy hump day! Today I’m chatting about two of my favorite things – fitness and food!
One Saturday morning I had the opportunity to take my first Orangetheory Fitness class. Orangetheory has been on my radar for years and a studio finally opened in my area. They offered your first class for free so I jumped at the chance.
My First Orangetheory Fitness Class
I didn’t take any pictures inside the studio for other people’s privacy but if you ask Google to show you pictures, she will.
Our instructor said the class was a little atypical and we were going to focus on strength. I started with weights and we did 2 sets of 3-4 different exercises. In the first set we did sumo squats, lateral raises and pushups. In the second set we did rows, TRX pull ups, side planks and reverse crunches.
Then it was time for cardio. On the treadmill we ran .25 mile at our push pace at 3% incline. Then we got on the rowers and did as many meter as it took to run .25 miles (so if .25 miles took 2:30 then we would row 230 meters).
The next block we did the same but at 4%, then 5% then 6%.
Finally, we paired up and one person rowed while the other did 20 squat pulses. Then we switched for 5 or so minutes. I was a sweaty mess in the end!
I loved that results were sent as soon as class ended!
So, would I go back?
Yes and yes! I am going back tonight in fact.
I loved the intense workout and the class flew by. The downside it that it is expensive. One OTF class is TRIPLE what I pay for classes at my regular studio. I’d love to incorporate OTF classes here and there but it’s not something I can commit to multiple times a week.
