Happy hump day and first day of winter. Today is the shortest day of daylight and it will keep getting brighter from here on out! The highlight of this week’s WIAW is definitely my dinner at Little Big Diner in Newton. The food was perfect as was the company.
Breakfast
I fully planned on having avocado toast and a smoothie for breakfast after my early morning yoga class but only managed to eat the avocado toast.
The toast part was Ezekiel Sesame bread and the avocado part was smashed with salt, pepper and cayenne.
AM Snack
Clementine season is in full force and these little babies were the perfect snack to hold me over until lunch time.
Lunch
Homemade chili at my desk. This chili has so much packed into it – turkey, beef, kidney beans, chickpeas, bell peppers, jalpenos, onions (white and red) and diced tomatoes. Plus I added my homemade chili spice mix.
My comforting, hearty lunch was welcomed at lunch time because the avo taost and clementines didn’t do much to hold me over. I could have eaten two bowls but I knew dinner at Little Big Diner would be filling.
PM Snack
A bottle of my favorite ginger kombucha was my only snack.
This is been a little 2:00 pm ritual for me lately. Brewing my own would be so much more cost effective…
Dinner at Little Big Diner
After work I drove to Newton to meet up with two of my favorite people in the whole wide world and have dinner at Little Big Diner.
I ordered shumai (unpictured) to start and enjoyed miso ramen as my main course. The ramen had pork, nori, an egg, bean sprouts, corn and scallions.
The bowl was as big as my head and I ate pretty much the whole thing while chatting for hours with my two best friends. It was exactly what I needed this week.
I hope you have a great Wednesday!
I love chili! One of my favourite winter time meals.
Nothing beats a nice spicy chili on a winter day!
That chili sounds fantastic and YES to girl’s nights where the conversations are just as amazing as the food 🙂
Yes and yes!
